Calling all music lovers, Community will be celebrating their 11th birthday at Manchester’s Albert Hall on Sunday, April 1st and they have one of coolest line-ups you’ll see this bank holiday weekend. To get this amount of world-class artists in one location is quite an achievement so you don’t want to miss out. Distinguishing names such as Motor City Drum Ensemble, Kamaal Williams and Henry Wu will all be hitting the stage making this one hell of a special party.

Who’s bringing it?

Motor City Drum Ensemble needs no introduction as he’s renowned as one of the best selectors in the business right now. He’s carved out a name for himself as one of the most unique DJ’s in the game. You can expect to hear some of the rarest classic disco grooves mixed in with some of the most cutting-edge in innovative house tunes. Forming a sweet mash-up of old and new.

London-based jazz aficionado Kamaal Williams (aka Henry Wu) will be playing his new LP live on the Albert Hall stage. Hailing from the London-jazz scene that has been flourishing more than ever in recent months. He will be bringing you a live show that you won’t want to miss. 

Chicago Legend DJ Rahaan will also be making an appearance just before Motor City Drum Ensemble. Having DJ’d consistently since the 80s specialising in disco and funky-house. He has garnered a somewhat legendary status globally over his career. Consistent features in the Boiler Room and other areas have brought his work to more listeners ears in recent years, despite his old school influences.

Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra will also be taking the stage at about half eight. They’ll be bringing their own unique and hypnotising twist on afro-funk to the table. This is another part of the lineup that can really bring it in a live music environment, so it’s definitely worth getting down there early.

Tickets are still available for this and are priced at £24.75. It’s very rare you’ll see this many headline-worthy acts on one stage in one night. So make sure you get your ticket!
